THE FALSE GOD

There is a boy in the bed of a hospital. Rather than a hospital is a shelter for refugees in the middle of an abandoned forest, under crossed fire of multiple enemies. The boy is semi mutilated, and in a few hours, he will  surely die. He is experiencing intense pain, much confusion, in a very distressed state and his emaciated body is thin until the bones. His innocent eyes, seem to leave the orbits, and his breathing is agitated. There is sound of fire in the background which does not look like consolidating the peace. 
 The boy feels very lonely. His  parents  have perhaps fled, or perhaps they are dead. The few doctors,  can no longer  help him,  because they don't have the means, or the medicines. And some of them have hopes, but for the boy the light of  life is coming to an end.
That boy can be anyone of us, can be our son, our relative, or our friend. And following our reflection I ask you: What is the reason for humanity to feel proud?  Will be for its power, technology, science, politics, economy? What has been accomplished by the most powerful civilizations? We find different faces of horror with a sophisticated degree of degeneration and human degradation. It happens that man has a great inner pride and believes in a false god of control and power. Where is the modern man of the future? The one who looks at the stars and wants to reach them. But his world gets corrupted, innocence is perverted and hatred and death reign. Where is Peace? Perhaps in the tomb, perhaps in the misery and solitude? What has the world become? This is not meant to criticize the world. This is a call, a warning, a summon, so people can listen, that this reflection can touch them and they can change.
The boy dies without even knowing the reason. Is this the glory of the armies? Is this the price of freedom of the nations?  Is this the science of men?  With the most sophisticated machinery of destruction, nevertheless, human life is mutilated. There is hunger of peace and thirst of tranquility. Many people don't have freedom, but nobody seems to care. What is the reason that indifferent people  in the world does not  make a halt and say "enough" ? The reason is very simple and also very cruel. Nobody cares. Their only concern is the reign of the false god, the power of destruction and death. After this, it must  be emphasized that if we look for God, we will find Him. Unfortunately, the hearts have turned into stone. The values have been forgotten. Nothing seems to matter. And this means that at the most unexpected moment, that boy who died alone, agonizing in the middle of anguish and desperation. Well, that boy perhaps some day can be you, or me or all.  Let's not remain without doing anything. How can we think that we are the center of the universe, the thinking creatures, if we do not change and we look for Love and Peace?
